Tony Blackmore produces paper sculpture through a process of drawing and folding that creates 3-d reliefs with regimented precision. His work plays with light as it passes over the surface of his artwork, giving movement to static forms. The paper folds create waves and illusions, and are set in relief in box frames.
His work is a meditative process drawing on his Buddhist beliefs combined with his training as an engineer.
In 2013, Tony exhibited in, Down the Dori in Both London and Tokyo and more recently, exhibited work at E17 Arts Trail in 2015. He will be participating in an exhibition on collaborative drawing planned for early 2016.
He graduated with an MA Fine Art from Wimbledon College of Art in 2013 where he was awarded the Tokyo Wondersite Residency Award.
Tony Blackmore currently lives and works in London.
