John Duffin is a highly accomplished printmaker and a member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. His work can be found in many private and public collections including the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, the Guildhall Library in London, the National Football Association and the Southbank Centre London. He has appeared on Radio and television and in 2010 won the Most Outstanding Print Award chosen by Sir Peter Blake. He shows regularly at Bankside Gallery and at the Royal Academy in London. Duffin was born in Cumbria and now lives and works in London.
Duffin’s work is in the tradition of LS Lowry in Britain and Edward Hopper in America and like these artists he creates unique views of contemporary urban life, a combination of his ability as a draughtsman, his imagination and his personal use of perspective and colour.
His work is redolent with influences from cinema, graphic novels and the history of figurative painting, but from this comes a vision that is his alone
