When we come across talented artists we want to get them seen by even more people. They say sharing is caring, after all. When I first saw Robert McKenzie’s delicate paintings I knew I had to help him get an exhibition, and within days it was arranged. McKenzie’s first exhibition took place at Mono London, 49 Denmark Hill, and it was very well received. The owner and fashion photographer Alberto Benzo was very enthusiastic about McKenzie’s work. The exhibition took place 10-24 June 2017.
McKenzie’s work has a quietness about it which is thoroughly appealing. Each item in the composition is given space and reflects the quiet solitude of his zen-like home studio.
Unlike many artists, McKenzie works on one painting at a time. He works in watercolours with an almost dry brush that is loaded with pigment and doesn’t appear at all as one would expect of watercolours.
